CS:GO Skin MarketWatch: The best AK-47 skins and Dignitas fox’s inventory

CS:GO Skin MarketWatch is a weekly look at the best deals and trends when it comes to skins. Every week we’ll help you get maximum value out of your loadout, highlight pro player inventories or clue you in on some must-buy skins.

Full Buy: The Best AK-47 skins

While the AWP is probably the most iconic weapon in Counter-Strike, it’s the AK-47 that’s the true king of CS. According to HLTV, the AK-47 accounts for 39.63 percent of all kills in pro games, that’s more than all the kills from the M4A4, M4A1-S and AWP combined.

As such, you’ll want to get a sick skin for your AK, because you’ll be using it a lot. Here’s five of the hottest AK skins, according to yours truly.

(Prices taken from CSGO Analyst‘s 30-day average on June 18.)

Neon Revolution

  • Quality: Covert
  • Factory New: $60.77

Nothing is more punk rock than a pink mohawk and nothing screams anarchy more than a pink AK-47. There are also subtle hints of neon green as well as a couple of partial skull motifs, just for that extra edgelord flavor.

Point Disarray

  • Quality: Classified
  • Factory New: $26.69

The Point Disarray features clean geometric vector art in with a high contrast red and blue color scheme, along with a subtle X and cross pattern seen on the stock, grip and fore grip. Futuristic and chaotic, a must have.

Aquamarine Revenge

  • Quality: Covert
  • Factory New: $34.76

If you were a fan of Ecco the Dolphin, the TV show Flipper or if you just appreciate awesome skins, the Aquamarine Revenge is a no-brainer pickup. It features a mural of dolphins on water primarily on the gun’s receiver, with more dolphins subtly “carved” onto the stock.

Cartel

  • Quality: Classified
  • Factory New: $6.69

Easily one of the more underappreciated skin series in the game, mostly because it’s true beauty is only apparently when get in real close and look at how detailed the engravings are. The skin is about to get even better thanks to the (long overdue) introduction of normal mapping to CS:GO.

The TL;DR is the engraving effect is made much more realistic and noticeable. Unfortunately the only skin in the game to utilize normal mapping so far is the CZ75-AUTO | Victoria, but more skins like the Cartel will undoubtedly be updated to maake use of this technique, which should open up new possibilities for future skins.

Bloodsport

  • Quality: Covert
  • Factory New: $72.71

Like a gun straight out of Wipeout, the Bloodsport brings a hodgepodge of various motifs and symbols representing the dystopian future envisioned by the skin’s creator, SLIMEface, of corporations sponsoring paramilitary groups:

“With the ever increasing climate of fear and the rumors that dark forces are plotting together, self defense equipment and vigilante forces are at an all time high.

Industry leaders took to sponsoring the latest and greatest operators in an effort to gain a couple more percent of the booming weapons and personal defense industry’s market share.”

Political statement or just swag, you can pull of both with the Bloodsport.

Player Inventory Highlight: fox

After winning the European Minor Championship and posting a massive 1.52 HLTV rating, this week’s player profile would have been BIG’s tabseN, but we already featured his inventory a while ago.

Instead, we’ll be profiling the second best player from the EU Minor, Team Dignitas’ fox.

If there’s one thing to takeaway from fox’s kit, it’s that he just loves himself.

All but one of his guns feature souvenir skins with his signature on it, or regular skins that he’s slapped his signature stickers on. In fact, his prize possession, a Factory New Dragon Lore, has four different fox signatures from four different Majors he’s attended.

If you’ve got a rap sheet like that, flaunt it.
